On Feb. 4, 2023, police officers in Berlin found 40-year-old Christopher Velez outside of the building he and Nomar Ramos-Rivera both lived in on Sullivan Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered one adult male resident, Christopher Veliz (age 40), outside the building having suffered apparent gunshot wounds. Mr. Veliz was later pronounced dead at the scene.
